You Have The Right To Choose Your Own Doctor If Injured At Work

After reporting your injury at work, you will be required to be evaluated at an employer approved medical facility. Under the laws of the State of Connecticut, Mohegan, and Foxwoods Workers’ Compensation Commissions you have a right to choose your own physician after treating at the employer approved medical facility ONE TIME.  You may feel pressure by you employer or the workers’ compensation insurance company to continue treatment at the employer approved medical facility. Insist on seeing a doctor of your choice.  This will prevent delays in your treatment which could lead to loss of employment if you are unable to return to work in a timely fashion. Your employer most likely participates in an approved provider plan.  You have a right to view the plan and choose a treating physician from the approved provider list.
